First Kodak Moment - Tazewell, TN
Yes Robert it is warm, and it's so becoming
It's the annual Pumpkin Festival in Allardt, TN. It's a really big deal here.
And, there were some really big pumpkins - would you believe over 300 lbs?
Road food at another fine dining establishment
What more is there to say?
Now, if I can just figure out which gloves to wear
Morning of Day 2 - Paris, TN - 400 miles from home / 400 miles from Eldon, MO
Threatening skies this morning (Red sky at morning, sailor take warning!)
And after all this it didn't even rain! We even bypassed the Dorena-Hickman Ferry for the bridges at Cairo, IL because we thought it might be raining when we got there.
Winona, MO - Are we having fun yet?
Should we call CSI to investigate the murder scene?
There at last! Nancy tries on Janice's Bandit for size
Hey Janice, smile - we're having a good time :-)
All gased up and ready to roll
This place would be right at home in East Tennessee - they offered both live bait and cappacino
At the Harry Truman Dam. Janice can't find her ketchup bottle
Anne checks her hair, Nancy recites poetry, Robert performs a Japanese exercise
It says here the wind just piles these sticks up like this (Dang! and I thought it was an eagle's nest)
Hmmmm, I think I can see Kansas
Hmmmm, I think I can see Toto
Hep Me! Hep! Hep!
Lunch on the Lake of the Ozarks loop (and Robert's nap site)
Well okay we did taste but didn't swallow (hey, didn't Bill Clinton say something like that?)
Achtung! Downtown Hermanhof, MO. A VERY German place. The Missouri river and Union Pacific railroad is off to the right.
Hey, this timer thing really works!
Our gracious hosts
Anne and Nancy at Elephant Rocks State Park
Wow! Look at that one! I've never seen one exactly like that. What is it anyway?
This doesn't look anything like an elephant's butt
Hey, I bet this is where the eagle's nest came from!
Okay, nap time is over now
Mrs Randall, can we go to the playground now?
Johnson Shut Ins (that would be trapped pools of water)
A bevy of black Honda's (and riders)
The Brick House B&B - built circa 1790 (Caledonia, MO)
Our bedroom at the Brick House. The walls are 18" thick built from bricks made on the property by slaves.
Our room had "facilities" including a yellow rubber duckie in the bathtub.
Another View. This house served as a Union command post during the Civil War. The garrison where Confederate prisoners were held is across the street.
Guy's and Janice's room
On the stairway landing - she would be a little frightening in the middle of the night, huh?
Last (slightly damp) morning on the road - Hopkinsville, KY
