EASTOC (Eastern ST1100 Owners Club) 2001 occured May 11-13 at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground, Cruso, NC. Approximatly 50 ST riders with a sprinkling of other mostly Japanese marqes enjoyed a great weekend much to the the chagrin of 20 or so thouroughly disgusted riders of "American" motorcyles with whom we shared the campground.

Queueing up for the start of Saturday's planned ride. The loop was about 180 miles of mostly twisty (and sometimes wet) roads up to Hot Springs, across to Weaverville then down the Blue Ridge Parkway to Cruso.
The 50 or so bikes were divided into 4 groups that started on 10-15 minute intervals.
Groups A and B at the Smokey Mountain Diner in Hot Springs
Add Groups C and D and we pretty much overwhelmed the place.

A good time was had by nearly all. There were two crashes - fortunately no injuries but one of the STs was totaled. I talked to both riders and both attributed their crashes to riding too fast for conditions. Same song, yet another verse. Yall be careful out there.
